Refreshing Getaway to Bali

Bali is an ideal island for holidays of all sorts and hence it was my second trip to Bali. I always knew that Bali would send me a second invite soon. The beautiful beaches, the rich culture and the serene beauty are nonetheless very captivating.

Our villa - Astana Kunti (Seminiyak)

We travelled by the night flight and after queuing for ages in the newly renovated Denpasar airport immigration we were totally exhausted and drained out and all we dreamt of were to reach the earliest to our villa. To my amazement the moment I landed in the villa (Astana Kunti Villa) I was awe struck. It was the loveliest haven one could just wish for, the kind of resort that would stop you in your tracks and take your breath away. The entire concept of the private pool just in front of the bedroom and the idyllic Balinese style décor was something which is worth commendable. The outdoor shower under the night sky was also very captivating. The view of the sparkling turquoise water in the pool the moment we wake up was heavenly. My boyfriend couldn’t resist taking a jump into the waters right after stepping out of the bed.

We were in real addiction to the villa and hence decided to spend max time in the pool and chilling in the sun beds after a most sumptuous heavy breakfast. It included our choice of fruits, cereals, hot beverage, fruit juice, egg benedict, bread, yoghurt which for sure was way too much for my appetite. It got me so lazy that a post breakfast nap was a must for me.

The extra hospitable behavior of the staff and crew also enthralled us a lot. The helped us by arranging taxi services for Jimbaran beach and Tanah Lot temple. We spent the first evening taking a long walk along the beach and enjoying a very delicious seafood cuisine in affordable prices by the sea. A perfect dinner for two of us! The next evening we decided the make a trip to the famous Tanah lot temple which has been an indispensable part of the Balinese culture, situated on a rocky cliff. Obviously we weren’t the only ones there; it was rather crowded with lots of tourists and hence was not as peaceful as I expected it to be. We did not see much of a sunset as it was partially cloudy and hence decided to have our dinner in the restaurants overlooking the temple. As I must say it was overpriced and not worth a single penny.

We were offered a Balinese massage for an hour in our villa which helped us relax our strained muscles and we attained the Zen mode. After a 3 days long stay in our awesome refuge, it was time to pack bags and get mentally ready for our hectic life in Singapore. After another plush lunch by the beach at jimbaran we made our way to the airport. For us, 3 days romantic getaway was perfect to escape the frenetic busy work schedules and rejuvenate us to keep going until we head for our next holiday destination. And last but not the least, there are something money cannot buy. The company of my boyfriend in this wonderful retreat made it worth a million dollar.
